Description
Run or walk a 5k to raise awareness for Type One Diabetes.
My name is Annamarie Todd and I have type one diabetes (T1D). I was diagnosed with T1D when I was 11 years old and have been fighting ever since. When I was first diagnosed, I had to take insulin injections 4 times a day and check my blood sugar 8 times a day, making for a rough few years. I am beyond grateful that I now have an insulin pump to give me insulin and a continuous glucose monitor to check my blood sugars without all the injections and finger pricks.
There is no way to prevent T1D and there is no cure–yet. But the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is working hard to change that. And that’s why my team is supporting JDRF by organizing a virtual race fundraiser. This year, JDRF’s goal is to raise $50 million in donations in honor of their 50th anniversary. In addition, this year’s nationwide goal is to log 1.6 million miles in support of the 1.6 million Americans living with T1D. We will be hosting this virtual walk, allowing participants to log their miles in support of JDRF until November 1. Registration is free, but we ask that you please donate to JDRF to help improve the lives of Type 1 Diabetics around the world.

Your donations not only change lives for people with T1D but will change your own life too. The inspiration from this community will stick with you, and the pride you can take for your role will last a lifetime.
Your support makes it all possible.
