Description

The 2nd Annual Nashville, TN Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in celebration of World Ostomy Day. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

RACE COURSE

This race will be held at Two Rivers Park located at 3150 McGavock Pike, Nashville, Tennessee. Two Rivers Park is a 374 acre park located in the heart of Donelson, and the home to more activities than any other park in Nashville. The Park is easily accessed from Briley Parkway, McGavock Pike and from Shelby Bottoms in East Nashville via the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River. There will be an certified timed 5K and a 1 mile Fun Run that crosses the pedestrian bridge over Cumberland River.

The exact route map will be included in your registration packets. This course is timed, so Go For It!

PARKING

Ample free parking is located next to the Skate Park area, the Water Park and the Pavilion area.

PACKET PICKUP

Pre-race Packet Pick up:  To be Announced.

Day-of packet pickup will be from 7am-8am on October 6th at the race site.

PRIZES:

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers, age group, as well as to the top male and female ostomates.

T-SHIRTS

Tech T-shirts will be included with registration if registered before the deadline. Race shirts will be either unisex or female v-neck cut. You are guaranteed a race shirt if you register by September 17th. You may purchase additional race shirts for $10 each.

OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH

Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies. 

FUNDRAISING 

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATION link at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
