Gerold Blum, a beloved son, brother, friend, and Memphis ROTC Cadet, tragically passed away on December 19th, 2013, from a rare heart condition. We gather annually in his honor and raise funds for the American Heart Association in Gerold's name.
Event Description
Join us for the Annual Blum Run as we come together to honor the memory of Gerold Blum, a former University of Memphis Army ROTC Cadet and student who passed away in 2013 due to a rare heart condition. Each year, we gather to celebrate his life and raise funds for the American Heart Association in his name.
This is an untimed event, but all participants will receive a race shirt, and prizes will be awarded to our top finishers. We’re excited to share that this year’s race will be hosted by St. Benedict at 8250 Varnavas Drive in Cordova, TN. Race day check-in includes picking up your event t-shirt.
Can’t attend in person? You can still support the cause by signing up to donate and receiving a t-shirt by mail. Simply send your shipping details to Jwcox2@memphis.edu. If you complete your run remotely, be sure to share your experience using #BlumRun2024 and tag us on Instagram (@UofM_rotc).
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the American Heart Association.
