The Navy and Marine Corps Freedom 5K celebrates the birthdays of our Sea Services and honors the sacrifices of those who have gone before us to support and defend our freedom this Veterans Day.

Message From The Skipper

Thank you for considering supporting the University of Memphis NROTC Unit.  The proceeds of this race will benefit the Midshipmen at the Unit as they strive to become Naval and Marine Corps Officers.  They work hard to earn money to support many different opportunities throughout their 4 years at the NROTC Unit.  These opportunities include Drill Competitions, Leadership Conferences, Field Training activities and more.  

As these opportunities are not financially supported by the Navy or Marine Corps, Midshipmen are obligated to secure funding to facilitate their participation in these activities. While the University does provide some assistance, it does not fully cover the requisite financial support for these opportunities.

By participating in this race you are honoring the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps while supporting the University of Memphis Midshipmen’s development as future Officers.
