Join us for this East Tennessee tradition! This year's New Balance Knoxville Summer Solstice 5K, Kids Obstacle Course, and KTC Summer Picnic will be held at Oakes Farm in Corryton, TN. There is NO COST for the picnic for race participants or KTC members but please be sure to register for accurate food and beverage ordering. 

Date, Time, & Place: Saturday, June 17, 2016 at 6:00 p.m with the Kids Obstacle Run starting at 5:00 pm. The picnic will begin at 6:30 PM and last until 8:00 PM.The race start/finish at Oakes Farm in Corryton, TN.

Directions: From Knoxville, take I-640 East to the Washington Pike Exit. Turn left under the interstate and then right at Target (staying on Washington Pike). Follow Washington Pike 10 miles to Corryton Rd.  Turn left on Corryton Rd.  Go 2.3 miles to Oakes Farm on the right (8240 Corryton Rd., Corryton, TN 37721).

Course Description and Highlights: A beautiful and challenging cross country course all on the 130 acre Oakes Farm in Corryton, TN with views of House Mountain and Clinch Mountain. The course is all off road. The kids obstacle course will utilize Oake's Farm activity areas and is sure to be a blast!

Registration & Entry Fee (NO REFUNDS AND NO BIB TRANSFERS): Please note that only one coupon per person may be used when registering for KTC events. One coupon may be used in addition to KTC Member discount and/or Team Member discount. Any coupons must be entered at checkout. The 2017 prices have been reduced for this event since being combined with the KTC Summer Picnic. Registration is capped at 300 entries. Race day registration available only if 300 entry cap has not been reached. 

KTC Summer Picnic: There is no charge for the picnic for race participants or KTC members, but please do register family and friends for an accurate count for food and drink ordering. 

T-shirts: 1st quality short sleeved shirt. This event does not have a no t-shirt option.

Results: Complete results will be available on the KTC Website at www.ktc.org or on the KTC App that can be downloaded via iOs or Google Play.

Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations and course terrain, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course.
Headphones are strongly discouraged.

KTC Safety Policy: KTC’s mission is to encourage lifelong physical well-being through running and walking. That is accomplished through a variety of events and programming.
The Knoxville Track Club puts the safety of its participants, spectators, staff and volunteers first. Dangerous weather conditions pose a unique challenge to an event of any size, distance or location.

Therefore, KTC has adopted the following Inclement Weather Policy:
Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, extreme temperatures and humidity. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these conditions on Knoxville Track Club’s website (www.ktc.org), as well as through other available means of communication such as e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and public address announcements.
The Executive Director and Race Director in consultation, when available, with law enforcement, fire/EMS, other medical officers and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: Altering the start time, altering the course, or in extreme situations cancellation of the event. Visible lightning occurring within 30 minutes of the scheduled start will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments up to a maximum of 3 delays.
Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race or modify the course due to inclement weather. As stated on registration and race pages, there are no refunds or transfers. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so by the race personnel, medical staff, fire/paramedics or police personnel.
