When it comes to New Year's Resolutions, consistency, accountability, and concrete goals are the keys to success. Training with Fleet Feet Knoxville Training is an awesome way to accomplish all three, while becoming stronger and fitter.  
 
Our Winter Long Distance Training  is perfect for seasoned runners wanting to set a PR or work on their endurance. The training program is designed to help you achieve your long distance running goals in a positive and fun group atmosphere, all while pushing you to become stronger and faster.   The 16-week training program is aimed at the Flying Pig racing weekend in Cincinnati, OH.  There are multiple options:  1M, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon.  Additionally, for those wanting to do more, there are combination options, the best full plate meal is Fri 1M, Sat 5K & 10K, and Sun Marathon.  Along the way, we will have options to race in Chattanooga first week of March and Knoxville first week of April.

Use the following guides to select the right program for you:

  • Marathon Distance: you should be able to run/walk 8-10 miles comfortably.
  • Half Marathon: you should be able to run/walk 5-6 miles comfortably.
  • 10k-15k:  you should be able to run/walk 2-3 miles comfortably.

Timeline

  • Q&A Session: Thu 1/4 & Thu 1/11 at 6:00pm.  This open-to-all discussion will be followed by a Open Group Walk/Run at 6:30pm.
  • 2 Gear-Up Weeks:  Starting with the Q&A week through the first week of the training program participants receive in-store discounts on any gear needed to get ready to train - from footwear to bras to hydration.
  • Coach-led Workouts: Tues at 6:30 PM and Sat at 7:30 AM; starts the week of Jan 15th
  • Target Race:  Flying Pig Marathon or Half Marathon on May 5th
    Races to consider during the training program: Erlanger Chattanooga Half Marathon on Mar 2nd and Knoxville Half Marathon or Marathon Relay Race on Sun Apr 7th

Participants Receive

  • A complete Training Program and calendar with detailed workouts
  • Weekly coach led training session with hydration provided
  • Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement
  • E-mail support – the coach will answer individual questions regarding training and running related issues
  • Weekly Group Runs available from Fleet Feet Sports
  • Technical fiber shirt
  • Discounts to Chattanooga's Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon races, Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon races and Flying Pig Marathon races.
