Podium Sports Medicine Grand Prix #4. The 10th annual Y Tri is next up in the pool sprint series, with the Westside Family YMCA in Knoxville the spectator friendly venue. This west Knoxville favorite is a great beginner race with a short 200 yard swim, two lap 7 mile ride through West Hills neighborhood, and flat 4k run on the West Hills greenway. Soft cotton shirts to all participants. Overall, age group, and relay awards, and post race "cookout". Volunteers provided by the YMCA, with race proceeds going to the YMCA “Save a Life” program. Expected participation—250. Beginner triathlon clinic, conducted by Fleet Feet Sports, will be held at the Y at 6:30pm on Friday. Topics covered include transition technique, what to wear, what to eat, etc. A brief course preview may also be held at this time.
