Endurance Sports Management is currently working with Tennessee Valley Authority, City of Oak Ridge and USA Triathlon (sanctioning approved June 2020) for the staging of our events - we will advise if there are any hold-ups in the approval process as more and more positive data is bolstering having events. Please see details of these event changes planned to ensure social distancing and lower virus transfer probability, along with changes allowing transfers/deferrals up to two days prior to each event.

The 2020 Atomic races have been limited to the first 150 entries per race distance due to social distancing guidelines necessary in holding events. Time trial starts will be utilized along with other aspects noted in the Covid-19 safety precautions noted on our web site with link noted above.
Due to TVA site restrictions, pavilion areas will be closed and off-limits for the entire event. Packet pickup will be from Noon until 7 PM each day on Thursday, Oct. 1, Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3rd under tents just outside main pavilion area. Both Saturday and Sunday participants can pick up during those times. Masks & Social distancing while at race site apply at all time not actually competing. Complete Covid Safety procedures and pre-race information will be sent Saturday, Sept. 19th.
The Atomic Sprint / Olympic Triathlon / Duathlon returns in 2020! You now have a choice of Sprint & Olympic triathlon or Duathlon. Wildlife abounds in this rural yet easily accessible area - beaver, deer, ground hogs, etc. Camping on-site and numerous hotels and restaurants within 5 miles in Lenoir City.
location: TVA Melton Hill Dam area, directions below. Race walk through Friday at 6 PM at race site. Arrive at site Saturday no than 7 AM EST for ample time for parking, packet pickup and getting ready for event starting promptly at 8 AM EST.
Choose either a 500 meter / 1500 meter swim in the triathlons or 5K run in the duathlon. Each event is followed by either a 18.6 mile bike and 5 K run or 40K bike and 10K run. Melton Hill Campground - Campground is right across park access road from transition and finish area. The availability of sites should be good being early October. Here is a link to reservations through the Recreation Resource Management site. You can get sites on a "walk-up" basis but I'd recommend viewing on-line availability, map, etc. to get a spot that wil work for you. Athlete Amenities - race packets will include: 50-50 long sleeve hoodie t-shirt, ESM water bottle, sunglasses, ESM swim cap (tris - must be worn). FINISHER MEDALS for all finishers. Post race food & door prizes from sponsors to be announced.
Endurance Sports Management has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete. Please review this option during the registration process.
All Endurance Sports Management triathlon events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon. When a race sanctions with USAT, it is required for each participant to purchase either a one-day license or annual membership in order to participate in said event. A one-day USAT license is $15 and an annual USAT membership is $50. Either can be purchased when signing up for the event. A youth one day or annual USAT license is $10. Endurance Sports Management has a NO REFUND policy. This is based on our policy to provide 15% of GROSS REVENUES to our charity partners. Insurance is available during the registration of each event. Please take advantage of this option should you wish to insure your entry fees. Athlete event TRANSFERS / DEFERRALS have been enabled up to 2 days prior to event with a $0 fee.
Event Cancellation / Modification Policy - If Natural Disaster or Community Disaster occurs, our action steps are as follows:
1. Endurance Sports Management in concert with local officials will make decisions based on safety first. 2. Courses and/or race segments will be altered as agreed to between Endurance Sports Management and local officials 3. Financial: It is not financially feasible for Endurance Sports Management to accept the risk of a disaster for everyone. Each registered participant needs to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. There will be NO REFUNDS or free entries to future races. The money you paid is spent developing the subject event. 4. Endurance Sports Management does not save any money if one of our events has to be canceled for reasons beyond our control. All supplies and services needed for the events are purchased and/or arranged in advance. All event supplies and services associated with that event must be paid for, regardless of the outcome.
Event Shirts - Event shirts are NOT guaranteed to participants registering within 2 weeks of each event. Please register prior to 2 weeks prior to guarantee your race shirt.
