The Friday Night 5K Run/Walk

The American Cancer Society & Relay For Life proudly present the Friday Night 5K Run & Walk.
Come join the fun and excitement of the Blount County Friday Night 5K Run & Walk! This timed race will start and end at Maryville College with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society & their continual fight against cancer. 

When & Where: Sign-in for this race will begin at 6:30PM on Friday, May 5th with the race actually occurring at 8:00PM. The event will be held in conjunction with the Annual Relay For Life of Blount County Celebration that will start at 5PM earlier in the evening at Alcoa Middle School. We highly encourage participants to come early and enjoy in all activities the night entails including Live Entertainment & "Taste of the World," a passport sampling of foods from around the globe.  

Cost & Cause: Th registration cost is $25 through March 19th. From March 20th through April 16th the race cost is $35. On April 17th the price of the race will increase to $40 until the day of the race. Day of price is $45. All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society and their continual efforts to create a world free from cancer.

Online Registration: Register online for the race at runsignup.com

Mail-In Registration: Please mail to Blount County Friday Night 5K, 871 N Weisgarber Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909. All mail-in registration must be received no later than Friday, April 28, 2017. 

Race Night Registration: Runners and walkers can register the evening of from 6:45PM- 8:00PM at the race registration tent at Maryville College. 

Race Results will be available including live results on runsignup.com. 

Race Packets: Anyone registered by Friday April 28th, can pick-up their race packet on Tuesday, 2nd from 4:00PM-6:00PM at the Maryville College Chapel. The race packet will include a t-shirt & purple LED wristband. For those unable to pick-up their race packet on April 28th, you will receive your packet the night of at the registration booth. No packets will be mailed. Late/day of participants will receive race packets as supplies last. 

Awards: The top 3 male and female participants will receive overall awards. The overall winners will not be eligible for the classification awards given to age groups, which will be given to the top 2 in each group. 

Refreshments: Refreshments will be available after the race. 

Race Day Etiquette: Due to our insurance policy, no rollerblades, strollers, bicycles, or dogs will be allowed in the race. We highly encourage all participants to register early and wear the FREE t-shirt and LED Purple Band. This event is scheduled to take place at 8:15PM and we want to see your Cinco de Mayo spirit, as we run through Maryville College, to help raise funds and awareness to end cancer. 

This event supports the American Cancer Society 's quest to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people get well and stay well, by finding cures and by fighting back against cancer. In the Knoxville area, the American Cancer Society serves thousands of patients through support groups, help with transportation to and from treatment, and the latest in cancer information.
