Description

Welcome to the duckDNA application portal, your first step to becoming a hunter-scientist through duckDNA.

This portal streamlines the application process for all of our projects. Whether you are interested in our standard sampling program, in which participants harvest and contribute samples from three Mallard-like ducks (Mallard, American Black Duck, Mexican Duck, or Mottled Duck), or the hybrid sampling program, which focuses on hybrids or other visually distinctive ducks already in hand, our secure and user-friendly tools make it easy to get involved.

By applying, you become a vital part of a ground-breaking research project. Through this project, we are revealing the prevalence of game-farm Mallard genes in wild populations, exploring Mallard population structure, discovering new hybrids, and laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of how genetics controls waterfowl behavior and ecology. Your participation will inform data-driven conservation and ensure the long-term health of wild waterfowl in North America.

Join the growing community of hunters, researchers, and conservationists contributing to duckDNA. Start your application today and help shape the future of waterfowl science and conservation.
