Under Armour 5K

I hope this email finds you and your families and friends safe following the events of last week. In the wake of the devastating Tornado that hit Middle Tennessee in the early hours of Tuesday morning last week, after assessing damage in the immediate area, and after speaking with the Mt Juliet Police Department, we have made the decision to postpone the inaugural Under Armour 5K slated for April 4th, until a date to be determined. 

Those already registered will get a separate auto-generated communication via run signup.com but I realize these auto-generated emails often get caught up in spam filters or go to Junk folders so I hope this email gets seen by all.I have already spoken with MJPD and MJ Parks & Rec and we are assessing alternative routes and dates. My hope is to stage the event soon enough so that we can generate some funds to assist those in the community most in need in terms of recovering from the Tornado, while also being sensitive to the community.

At this time, although the routes appears to be runnable and free of debris, I feel like trying to stage the event in that area so soon would be insensitive, potentially problematic with all the trucks coming in and out to assist with clean-up, and a use of police resources that are best used elsewhere. I will communicate to you the new date, course, and venue as soon as we make those decisions. But my hope is to stage the race within 8 weeks of the original date.I will address the subjects of potential refunds, diverting funds to disaster relief organizations, etc next week. Please be patient and look for an email on all of  this soon.

Right now are hoping to hold the event on Saturday, October 17th, 2020.
