Description
Altra athlete Jacky Hunt-Broersma didn't set out to become an ultra runner, but 21 years after losing her leg to cancer, she's become just that and is no stranger to doing hard things. Last year, Ms. Hunt-Broersma set the world record for most consecutive daily marathons (104!) and is now attempting to run a half marathon every day for 250 days to raise money for cancer research with the Doing Hard Things Project.
Join us on Sunday, October 15th at our Green Hills store to participate in Jacky's daily half marathon or finish the run with a 3 mile loop. Make plans to stick around after for a pancake breakfast and meet & greet with Jacky and to create a custom shirt from Altra (with donation to Amputee Blade Runners).
We will start at 6:30am with a 10 mile route (found HERE) that loops back to the store and will begin the 3 mile loop (found HERE) at 8am. Those who wish to complete the half marathon will do both routes. If you prefer to sleep in and participate in the last 3 miles, arrive at the store and be ready to go by 8am.
Please note that the roads will be open to vehicular traffic and participants must adhere to all traffic laws, utilizing crosswalks and obeying traffic signals. Sidewalks or multipurpose/bike lanes are available the entire route.
Our pancake bar will open at 8:30.
