Description
Come experience an impressive Cherohala 5K in Tellico Plains, Saturday October 26th at the Cherohala Skyway Festival! Timely registration includes an awesome race Cherohala 5K T-shirt, a keepsake weatherproof Cherohala 5K logo sticker, chip timed race bib, water before the event and water and snacks after the event!
Pre-race warm up provided by Grow and Flow Yoga.
The spectacular course will start and end along the Cherohala Skyway with sections following the Tellico River! The chip timed race is sanctioned by Personal Best Racing! Register by October 16th to be guaranteed a T-shirt! First and Second Place Medals will be awarded to male and female division winners in each age group. Participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pre Race Instructions:
REGISTRATION and packet pick up will begin at 7 a.m. at the RUNNER’S ARCH at the corner of Babcock Street and Cherohala Skyway, directly across from Skyway Realty located at 411 Cherohala Skyway.
PARKING for runners & families: Easiest and plenty of parking is in Parking Zone 1, the Charles Hall Field located behind the Charles Hall Museum: Enter the field at 122 Bank Street at the Event Parking Sign. There is a $10/ vehicle parking fee. Bring cash. A parking attendant will direct you. From the field, it is an easy walk over the Walking Trail Bridge to the museum. Continue to the Hall Museum's entrance and you will see the Runner's Arch at the road, the area where the race will begin and end. Parking Zone 3: There is limited handicapped or easy access parking at the museum’s entrance at 229 Cherohala Skyway and a drop off and turn around zone.
After sign up, runners will walk to the start line that is located at the end of Babcock Street. Grow and Flo Yoga will begin to warm participants up beginning at 7:30 a.m.
START & FINISH LINE: You will see the Runner’s Arch at the intersection of the Charles Hall Museum property at the corner of Babcock Street and the Cherohala Skyway that is directly across from Tellico Mountain Realty at 418 Cherohala Skyway.
First and Second Place medals will be presented at the Cherohala Skyway Festival main music stage around 9:45-10:00 a.m. The Stage is located at the Charles Hall Museum beside Building 2 and close to the finish line. The Cherohala Skyway Festival has lots of free family activities, food and over 85 vendors. First Baptist Church will be having a free pancake breakfast from 8:30-10 AM at the Cherohala Skyway Visitor’s Center entrance.

Age group awards: 13-19 , 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65 and older.
Darrah Wiseman, a Tellico Plains High School senior and SIX TIME TSSAA Class A State gold medal champion and already a Tellico Legend, will serve as Grand Marshal! She will kick off the races and present the awards at the end of the race!
Any profits will benefit the outdoor classroom fund for our non-profit community museum, the Charles Hall Museum and Heritage Center.

Participants may continue to register until event start time. The Cherohala Skyway Festival and Cherohala 5K are held annually the 4th Saturday in October at the Charles Hall Museum & Heritage Center in Tellico Plains, TN.

Directions
Race begins and ends at the Race Arches, located at the intersection of Babcock Street and Cherohala Skyway. Parking Zone 1: Enter the field behind the Hall Museum at 122 Bank Street at the Event Parking Sign. There is a $10 parking fee. From the field, walk over the Walking Trail Bridge to the Hall Museum. You will see the Race Arch at the road close to the museum’s entrance. and the area where the race will begin and end. Admission to the Cherohala Skyway Heritage Bluegrass Festival that will be gearing up at the Hall Museum and Field is free.
