Important Update for 2020!
The Cades Cove Loop Lope cannot take place as originally planned, but fear not - this year you can "Lope" around any "Loop" of your choosing and still receive all participant swag like this year's shirt and finisher medal!

With due regard to the safety and health of the community, the Cades Cove Loop Lope 5K and 10-Mile events are moving to a virtual format. Our goal is to avoid the potential spread of COVID-19 and allow runners to safely participate while achieving their personal goals and supporting Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

What does that mean for me as a participant?

Registered participants have three options:

1) Transfer to the virtual event and still receive all race swag. Details about a Packet Pick-Up and other options to receive swag will be communicated in another email, as well as instructions for uploading your virtual results and participating in the RaceJoy virtual experience.

2) Defer to the 2021 Cades Cove Loop Lope free of charge. Note: We are not able to defer parking passes to 2021.

3) Request a refund.  We will process all refunds starting October 1.

To indicate your preference, please do the following:
See below for options and select the appropriate check box. Friends of the Smokies will take care of the rest! Refunds will be issued starting October 1.

*Please complete this action by Thursday, October 1! If not, you will automatically be switched to the Virtual Event.

Friends of the Smokies and Great Smoky Mountains National Park thanks you in advance for your support and understanding. We are already looking forward to running with you in 2021!

Please bear with us as we navigate event transfers, deferrals, and refunds. Your patience is very much appreciated! For more information, contact Kathryn@FriendsoftheSmokies.org or visit https://runsignup.com/participants.

Here Are Your Options:

Important! Selecting this option does not automatically transfer you to the virtual event. Login to Run Sign Up then go to Profile>Manage Registration>Transfer Event.

Due to the nature of fundraising events during the last several months, Friends of the Smokies is determined to make up lost revenue from cancelled events in 2020. If you are able, please consider transferring your registration to the Virtual event. By opting to participate this year virtually, you are ensuring that Great Smoky Mountains National Park is preserved and protected for years to come.

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results - we’ll send you instructions.

More information about Packet Pick-Up and other options will be communicated shortly.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

Note: This option is not the same as participating in a Virtual event. This simply converts your registration to a 100% donation to Friends of the Smokies.

We will defer your registration to 2021. Please note: We are not able to defer parking passes.

We understand. We hope you can join us next time! We will be processing refunds on October 1.
