Argyle 'Band on the Run' 5K Race & 1K Fun Run

Help the Argyle ISD Band celebrate our 1st annual 'Band on the Run' event on Saturday, May 11th, 2024!  

All proceeds from this race will go directly to the Argyle Band Boosters and benefit the Argyle ISD High School Band. Please help us by registering to run or walk, or even by donating directly to support the activities of the band booster program. If you are looking to make a big impact for a great cause, please sign up or donate today!

Band Boosters are comprised of any parent who has a student in the band program, and we are proud to say we have a very high volunteer support group. The boosters assist the band by providing financial support for activities, scholarships, and private lessons, as well as any projects outside the domain of the school district's revenue. The Argyle Band Boosters is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization that supports the band program.

Bring the entire family, your friends, and colleagues for a fun-filled musical morning! This is a community event open to all runners and non-runners, so we hope to see you on race day!
 
Race Day Schedule

• 7:30 am: Same-day registration
• 8:15 am: Welcome, Invocation, National Anthem and Announcements
• 8:30 am: 5K starts
• 9:15 am: 1K Fun Run starts
• 10:00 am (approx): Awards Presentation
• 12:30 pm: Course closes and event conclusion

What's Included:

• 5K: Cotton T-shirt, timing chip, bib, finishing medal

• 1K Fun Run: Cotton T-shirt, bib, finishing medal

• Volunteers: Awesome volunteer technical t-shirt, donuts & coffee the morning of and snacks & drinks during the event!

    Shirt size NOT GUARANTEED if registering after April 15th

Finishers Metals:

Finisher's metal's only guaranteed for the first 140 participants

Event attractions include:

• 5K course and a 1K fun run
• On-site medical staff provided by TotalCare of Argyle, and local police presence to insure the health and safety of the runners and spectators.

 Parking and Road Closures

The eastbound/southbound lanes of Canyon Falls Drive will be CLOSED from approximately 8:25 am - 8:50 am the morning of the race, Saturday May 11th from Stonecrest Rd. to Horseshoe Falls Drive.

Parking will be in the south lot (behind the school) and will only be able to entered/exited by the entrance off of Canyon Falls Drive to the east. (see below)

If you are arriving from 377 you can take Canyon Falls Drive until it closes, after it's temporary closure, take Stonecrest Rd to Oak Knoll Rd then Prairie Ridge Rd back to Canyon Falls Drive. 

If you are arriving from Canyon Falls or from the 1171 side of the neighborhood, you can take Canyon Falls Drive east to the parking lot.

Course Maps:

The 5K features a chip-timed run starting at the Argyle High School campus, through the Canyon Falls neighborhood, and a few paved trails before returning back to the campus.

The Fun Run will start and end on the Argyle High School campus. Perfect for casual runners and walkers The Fun Run (1K) can be walked, run, or crawled. Enjoy the course with music by your favorite local musicians.

5K

Overall male and female winner in each age group:

• 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older
• Fastest Stroller
• Oldest Runner
• Youngest Runner
• Fastest Stroller! (male OR female winner)

5K Final Finisher Award

1K Family Fun Run (overall male and female winner in each age group)

• 5 and under, 6-10, 11-15
• Fastest Stroller! (male OR female winner)
