Description
  • REGISTRATION CLOSES ON MAY 27TH, 2017, 7:00:00AM CST. Select your child’s weight class to register. Competitors, known as Roughnecks, will have a set time limit or course to complete each challenge. Gloves are recommended, but not required for the challenges. The first Roughneck for Kids wave will start no earlier than 8:30AM. This permits those who are competing in the duathlon to finish before the first weight class begins. No refunds. Your entry is a charitable donation.
YOU WILL NEED TO BE AT THE EVENT NO LATER THAN 7:30AM as this event is held in conjunction with the Daisies & Dragons Duathlon for Kids and the course is closed.  Parking is within the course so we want minimal to no traffic going in and out of the parking lot from 7:30AM-8:30AM. The lot only has one entrance/exit area open.  The course is closed.  You will be able to leave if you have another commitment.  The last participant usually finishes Daisies & Dragons by 8:30AM.  We do have a volunteer manning parking.
  • You can find registration for Daisies & Dragons Duathlon for Kids here: https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/Beaumont/DaisiesDragonsDuathlonForKids

  • The event is open to ages 15 and under.

COURSE: The lot is closed to through traffic. One entrance and exit. All competitors should plan to arrive before the first race begins at 7:30AM for the safety of the children on the course.
We will have a volunteer manning the entrance and exit.
FOUR CHALLENGES:
1. TIRE FLIP CHALLENGE
Time Period: 2 Minutes Contestant flips the tire. Different sized tires for youth categories. Walks to the opposite side of the tire and flips it again. Repeat this back and forth process until the 2 minutes expire.
2. ROAD CONE CHALLENGE
Time Period: 2 Minutes. Move as many road cones a set distance as possible. Road cones must be neatly stacked before returning to grab another stack of cones. If cones are thrown, they do not count.
3. ROPE PULL
Time Period: 2 Minutes. Sit or stand with feet planted against curb. Contestant pulls the rope toward them until the tire touches the curb. Run to the opposite curb with the end of the rope. Sit and pull the rope to repeat the process.
4. TIRE ROLL
Timed Event: Roll a tire around an obstacles course of cones without disturbing any cones as quickly as you can.

Please stay after the race to enjoy more fun physical activities!  Be our guest!
