LU Athletics Texas Independence Day Virtual 5k

Is being more fit and active one of your 2021 new year resolutions? Are you a proud Texan? Love to support your Lamar Cardinals? Join Lamar University Athletics in celebrating Texas Independence Day by participating in our inaugural virtual 5k! Hit the road (or treadmill) to show your Texas pride and support of LU Athletics. Participants can run or walk their 3.1 mile race anywhere and on their own time between Friday, February 26, 2021 and Sunday, March 7, 2021. Enjoy your favorite places in Southeast Texas while you complete your race - jog through LU's campus, take a stroll through downtown Beaumont, stride along Seawall Drive, or maybe run down a Texas back country road.. it's completely up to you!

Results can be submitted to RunSignup by using your Fitbit, Garmin, or other compatible devices. 

All participants will receive:

• Printable Race bib
• T-shirt
• Certificate of completion
• Finishers medal

Race bib's will be emailed out prior to race week so you can print out and wear while completing the virtual 5k. 

Proceeds from the sale of virtual 5k registrations will go to support LU Athletics and Cardinal student-athletes. LU Athletics needs support from Cardinals fans more than ever before. COVID-19 has brought significant financial challenges and your support helps prevent the momentum of LU Athletics from being stopped.
