******* It is with sincere regret that we must announce the cancellation of our planned 5K event in March. We deeply apologize to those who were looking forward to participating.
We are currently working on taking down the event page and reimbursing the individuals who had already signed up.
While we had high hopes for this event, the reality is that without more volunteer support and interested sponsors, we are unable to make it happen this year. Organizing an event of this scale requires a team with the time and resources to see it through and our current membership base was not adequate to pull it off this year.
We appreciate everyone who expressed interest and hope that, in the future, we can build the volunteer base needed to make this event a success. If you or someone you know would like to get involved in supporting future efforts, we’d love to hear from you.

Friends of Lake Brownwood State Park

Come join the Friends of Lake Brownwood State Park and enjoy this wonderful Texas State Park. We are a group of volunteers who seek to create improvements and support the conservation of Lake Brownwood State Park through service projects and fundraising. We are currently working to build funds for a playground for the Day-Use Area of the park for children to enjoy. The 5k has been created to generate funds for this project, though we hope to make it an annual event. All proceeds from the Friend’s Group, including this event, are used for Lake Brownwood State Park for improvements.

The 5K run will take place on partial pavement and the Nopales Ridge trail.  The 1-mile run will be on pavement only.

Race t-shirts are guaranteed to racers registered by February 28, 2025.

Registration Fees (thru February 28):  

5K - $35.00

1M- $20.00   

12 and under registration is $5 (includes shirt)

Groups of 5 or more please with received a $5.00 discount per person.

5K- $40.00 

1M-$25.00 

Sleep-in Registration: Whether you can’t get up that early or have physical limitations that prevent you from participating, don’t let that stop you from supporting our cause! Don’t sweat it!!! Show your support from the comfort of your home in your PJs!

5K: Medals awarded for top Male and Female racers in each age group.

Race Day Schedule: 

Walk-up registration: 7-7:45 a.m.

5K Run @ 8 a.m.

1M: 5 minutes after the last 5K runner starts
