We are excited to be hosting year 2 of a sprint triathlon in the Bryan/College Station area benefiting the local nonprofit The First Win Foundation in honor of John C. Webb. For more information about The Active Texan and the triathlon, visit theactivetexan.com.
The race will consist of a 400m swim, 15 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run at Lake Walk and in the surrounding Traditions neighborhood in Bryan, Texas. This will be a great race for both seasoned triathletes and those looking to complete their first multisport race.
We also have a relay option for those who want to compete, but do not (or feel they can not) complete all 3 events. Each member on the team of 3 must sign up individually, enter their team name, and select the event they will complete for the race.
This will be a USAT sanctioned race. As such, all participants are required to be USAT members in order to participate. USAT offers a single day membership or if you would like to research their annual options you may do so here. All annual members will be required to provide proof of membership prior to racing.
New for 2024 is a VIP option! The first 10 participants to make a $75 or greater donation the First Win Foundation during registration will receive expedited packet pick up, reserved parking on race morning, and priority transition placement.
All registrations are final and are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Packet pickup: Saturday 9/28 1-6pm and 9/29 6-7am at the Pavilion at Lake Walk (across from the Stella hotel)
FAQs:
Will I be able to wear a wetsuit for the race? - At this time we do not expect the water temperature to be low enough to permit wetsuit use. The water temperature will be communicated prior to race day.
When does the race start? - BOTH RACES start Sunday, September 29th, at 8am. We will utilize a self seeding rolling start. Athletes will enter the water off a floating pier, and entering feet first is strongly recommended.
Can I check my bike in the night before? - Transition will open the morning of the race, and there will be no overnight bike storage for this event. Only participating athletes will be allowed to access the transition area.
