Description
The 30th annual U&I Dash will be held at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 23, at Klyde Warren Park. This milestone celebration promises an exciting day of activities, featuring two distinct events - a 5k and 1 mile race through Dallas' Arts District and Uptown neighborhoods in the morning, followed by a lively festival beginning at 4:00 PM. And this is a dog-friendly event.
Race day registration and packet pick up begins at 7:00 AM, followed by the race, starting promptly at 8:30 AM. Included in the fee is a custom finisher medal, dry fit style running shirt and for participants 21 years and older a Mango Margarita from Mi Cocina at the finish line.
The 5K run is chip-timed and age group awards will be presented during the post-race ceremony. The age group categories include, overall male and female, male masters, and female masters, as well as 1st to 3rd place, male and female in the following age categories; 9 & under, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69 and 70+.
Advance packet pick up is available at Academy Sports & Outdoors, 6375 E. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75231 on the following dates and times
- Thursday, March 21 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Friday, March 22 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
The post-race ceremony and celebration includes music, face painting, a food truck, the McDonald’s Midway interactive playground, Michael’s Creativity Zone, and phenomenal photo ops!
The morning kicks off with the race, open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. The scenic route, starting at Klyde Warren Park, takes runners through the iconic Arts District and Uptown neighborhoods. The proceeds from the registration fees benefit U&I, an organization dedicated to serving youth, adults, and Veterans with disabilities.
After the race, the festivities continue with the U&I Dash Festival from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Klyde Warren Park. The festival promises a diverse range of entertainment, including live music, the McDonald's Midway, an interactive playground, and culinary delights from Mi Cocina. Attendees can also explore the immersive art show, "Redefining Disabilities Experience," and the Michael's Creative Space, featuring the Rise Up Live Art Show and craft station.
Shop Local Lane showcases Dallas' vibrant community with local shops and brands, creating a unique shopping experience. The U&I Dash is designed to be family-friendly, with face painting, a glow station, and numerous photo opportunities in the heart of Dallas.
