Directions to the Starting Line
From the east on Hwy 82 at the red light turn left. From the west on HWY 82 at the second red light turn right. Parking is on the NETT Right Of Way. Start/finish line is on the street between the bank and NETT ROW.

Race History
The Oktoberfest 5K was established in 1982 through the efforts of Joyce Bearden and Richard Engle. The race has become the kick off event for Saturday in the Park fun. The date has been officially set for the last Saturday in September and has survived a several course changes and a hurricane.
Course Description
Paved course starts at State Bank on Grizzly Street just past the drive through, runners will proceed west and turn around just past the Twin Rivers store, and finish line will be at the bank. Water will be provided at the start/finish and at the half-way point. Runners will encounter a gradual uphill out and back.
This is a closed course but be aware that some drivers will ignore our best efforts.
RACE Rules because we have to have them. You MUST have fun! Everyone of all ages and fitness levels are welcome as long as you can walk 3.1 miles. We love your fur babies but sometimes they do not enjoy being in a crowded street. For their safety and the safety of others we ask that you let your pets cheer you on but not be in the race. If you register as a "walker" you are agreeing that you will not jog or run at anytime during the race.
Entry Fee Information: Individuals $20 with shirt. Family: with 1 paid entry each additional member $15. School Teams: No shirt with entry, $10 per person or $50 per team up to $150 per school. Shirts may be purchased for $12.
