Canned Food Drive and Helmet Distribution
An additional goal of our event is to raise food for the UTRGV Food Pantry. The food pantry exists to help students who are experiencing hunger and food insecurity. If able, we are kindly requesting participants and non-participants alike to consider donating non-perishable food items to help students in need.
The Hidalgo-Starr County Medical Society will also be donating helmets through their program "Hard Hats for Little Heads". Hard Hats for Little Heads is a statewide program that is completely free and since 1994 has donated over 260,000 bicycle helmets to Texas children. Race registration is not required.
