Event Description
Celebrate community, tradition, and movement at the inaugural Día de los Muertos 5K, proudly presented by Flowar and held in partnership with the 41st Annual KLAQ Halloween Parade. This brand‑new race brings festive energy to a beloved El Paso tradition, kicking off the afternoon celebrations at Album Park on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
This 5K is for everyone — runners, walkers, families, first‑timers, seasoned athletes, and anyone who wants to start their Halloween afternoon with joy and color. Costumes are encouraged, whether you choose classic Día de los Muertos calavera style or your favorite Halloween character. Bring your creativity and your community spirit.
Run. Walk. Dress Up. Celebrate. Run in memory of someone you love. You will be able to write the name(s) on your Race Bib.
All finishers will receive a special Día de los Muertos medal, awarded to the first 500 participants. After you cross the Finish Line, stick around to enjoy the parade. Awards for the overall top male and female finishers, along with age‑group awards, will be presented during the parade’s award ceremony.
Join us for an afternoon filled with tradition, celebration, and movement — then stay for the parade and keep the festivities going. The Día de los Muertos 5K - Presented by Flowar is ready to become your new favorite Halloween tradition.
Race Schedule
Race will start promplty at 1:30pm. Cut off time is 3:00pm in order for the parade to start on time.
AWARDS
The Día de los Muertos 5K will also feature fun community awards, including Best Halloween Costume, Best Día de los Muertos Costume, and Biggest Work Team. Bring your creativity, your team spirit, and your festive flair — you might cross the finish line with more than just a medal.
Age‑group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each division: 6–9, 10–14, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+.
Refunds and Transfers
Please note that all race registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. This policy is in place to ensure fairness and consistency for all participants and to support the planning and logistics of the event. If youre schedule is unpredicatable we highly encourage you consider purchasing the Race Insurance, FanShield.

Safety Guidelines
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, Hive Production Company encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of Dia de los Muertos 5K.
We believe your race experience and those around you will be greatly enhanced by leaving the headphones at home or in the car. Running headphone-free allows opportunities to develop camaraderie with your fellow runners and to enjoy everything the race has to offer. Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on course cheering you on and providing directions to help get you to the finish line.
Runner safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority for our event. Please be mindful of the other participants and respect the race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.
For everyone’s safety, strollers, roller blades, skateboards, skates, scooters, bicycles, or any device on wheels are not permitted on the race course. These items increase the risk of injury in crowded race conditions. Adaptive chairs required for athletes with disabilities are allowed. Please help us maintain a safe environment for all participants by respecting this policy.
Pets are not allowed on the race course or in the start/finish areas. Even well‑mannered animals can become unpredictable in crowded, high‑energy environments, creating unsafe situations for participants and spectators. Only service animals are permitted. Thank you for helping us keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone.
