There is also a 3- 6 mile fun run (all paces welcome).

Race Awards:
T-shirts and caps (hats) to runners in all 5 races.
Medals to finishers of three longer races.
Overall— 1-4. M/ W in each of the five races gets special award.
     NO Age Group awards.

Course:
Loop is 4.2 miles, 90% dirt trails.  Three longer runs do easy 1.3 mile out and back at start to make distances work out.
    (SO, 30km does 1.3 miles plus 4 x 4.2 mile loops, Marathon does 1.3 miles plus 6 x 4.2 mile loops, etc.).
*** Strict 6 hour 45 minute cut-off at 26.5 miles in order to continue to 50 km point.  You will still get full credit for the marathon distance and a nice medal.
Shorter two races do .3 extra at start, then head out on 4.2 mile loop.
*** We have sincerely tried to eliminate tricky hairpin turns and overly technical footing (e.g. rock slides).  BUT these are still hilly TRAIL races in the high desert at 3900’- 4110’ elev.
All turns heavily marked with orange flagging and directional signs.
Much of the route is a long out-and-back past North Mountain (the peak with TV towers on the summit), so you will get to cheer on runners coming the other way.

AID:  Water and many types of drinks offered at start/ finish area and at 1 mile/ 3.2 mile points of each loop.
Light snacks (pretzels, crackers, bananas, grapes, gels, etc.) at main Start/ F aid stop.
** We highly recommend you carry at least a 16 ounce water bottle with you on course.

WEATHER:  Come prepared for anything.
We have had heavy rains, light snow, unseasonable 80F highs, etc.

MAPS of the course will be posted on this site. Paper copies available at Oct. 24 Kick-off Party and the Nov. 11 in-store registration.
