Description
Things are so different this year - especially in the world of swimming. Although we are discouraged that we are not able to be together to swim and compete, during this month of family time and beautiful El Paso weather, there is one thing we can still do 'together' - a Virtual 5K!
Join together with your friends and family near and far for this fun virtual race! You can run, walk, jog, swim, bike, cartwheel, canoe, skate, dance, and creatively complete your 5K distance at your own pace - no motorized vehicles please! Create your own race theme, or strike up some friendly competition with your neighbors. The most important part is to have fun and get creative, while staying safe!
We are offering a finisher dog tag, and for those that want to buy some race SWAG - that is also an option! All gear and prizes will be shipped or picked up after the race is complete. Join up with your local swim team, or for those that are SWAT swimmers, create your own team! There will be a prize for the non-SWAT team with the most participation, and also for the SWAT swimmer with the biggest team! We can't wait to see what fun ways to race that you and your crew come up with!
SCHEDULE
Complete a 5K however you wish – run, walk, jog, swim, bike, canoe, kayak, roller blade, etc.
*no motorized vehicle allowed
Complete your 5K between Sunday, November 15 and Friday, November 27. Deadline to submit your results, pictures, & videos (30 second time limit please!) is Midnight on November 27!
Award winners will be announced by Monday, November 30. Winners will be contacted via email, and will be announced on the SWAT Turkey Trot 5K Facebook page. We will make every effort to mail/distribute all Awards, Finisher Dog Tags & Race SWAG the week of November 30. However, there may be delays due to the El Paso COVID-19 restrictions and shut down.
