As a long-time prime-time anchor in El Paso television news, Estela led a public battle against thyroid and breast cancer. She did special reports on the challenges she, and other women on a cancer journey face as they navigate through the physically, financially, and emotionally charged process.
With the moral and financial support of Albertsons, Viva Auto Group, Desert Imaging, Ford and many other dedicated sponsors, Estela has helped raise and distribute money in the community to women and men who might not otherwise be able to afford a cancer screening.
