Light Up D.A.R.V.O. a nonprofit dedicated to protecting children affected by domestic abuse and coercive control, particularly within the family court system.

Our mission focuses on education, public awareness, and legal reform to help ensure that children’s safety is prioritized in family court proceedings.

We work to bridge the gap between research on coercive control, post-separation abuse, and childhood trauma and how these issues are understood and addressed in family courts. We provide continuing legal education and specialized training for judges, attorneys, and other family court professionals, including Texas-approved judicial training on family violence. We also raise public awareness and advocate for legal and policy reforms that better protect children.
