Description

The Inaugural Dia de los Muertos 5k Race & Fun Run event coincides with Artes de la Rosa’s festival which has become an annual tradition for families and the North Texas Community featuring artisans, folkloric performances, and a celebration of the holiday.

Your 5k race packet will include a commemorative Dia De Los Muertos Tshirt, your race number, and some info about other races in the area. Sometimes packets will include other surprise ‘swag’ as well!
Medals will be awarded to top three males and top three females in each age division, ribbons will be awarded to all 1k finishers!

Race Course

This course has been certified by the Fort Worth Running Company. The course is an out and around both Marine and Circle Parks with a slight incline at the start and decline to the finish. The DDLM is a fast course for a 5K Personal Record. There will be Mile Markers and water at the turn-around.

 

What To Wear

Get creative! Costumes! ESPECIALLY Skeletons, Calaveras, and those
that represent the Dia de los Muertos holiday.

After The Race

After The Race This inaugural 5k Race & Fun Run coincides with Artes de la Rosa’s most popular annual event, where music, food, and folk art honor the lives and celebrates the spirit of our dead. The race will start at 5p.m. with an awards ceremony to follow. At sunset, a drum procession will lead participants from Marine Park to the Plaza at Artes de la Rosa where the
festivities will just be kicking off!

The Inaugural DIA DE LOS MUERTOS 5k Race & Fun Run event coincides with Artes de la Rosa’s festival which has become an annual tradition for families and the North Texas Community featuring artisans, folkloric performances, and a celebration of the holiday. The event is the largest of its kind and draws participants from hundreds of miles around. The creation and inclusion of the Race was specifically designed to create awareness about the Dia de los Muertos holiday, highlight the cultural diversity. in

2015 – DIA DE LOS MUERTOS 5K RACE AND KIDS FUN RUN, Saturday October 31st ?Race starts and ends in front of “Marine Park” in Fort Worth, TX 76164. The park is approximately 2.5 miles west of?Hwy #287/E. Northside Dr., and one mile south of the Stockyards Station and Billy Bob’s Texas.
Texas, and promote healthy activities amongst children in our community.
