Poverty Simulation
The Community Action Poverty Simulation breaks down stereotypes by allowing participants to step into the real life situations of others. This simulation allows individuals to walk a month in the shoes of someone who is facing poverty and realize how complex and interconnected issues of poverty really are.
Participants will take on the role of a member of a family facing a variety of challenging but typical circumstances. Each family is given a card explaining its unique circumstances and then tasked with finding food, shelter, and other basic necessities by accessing various community resources.

Poverty Simulation - Hunger and Homelessness Week
If you have already participated in the Poverty Simulation, playing a staff role is a great opportunity to participate and help others gain a better understanding of the effects of poverty. We need 20 - 25 people to play these roles. Click the button to volunteer at our next simulation!
