Description
An officer is killed in the line of duty every 65 hours. Throughout history, there have been more line of duty deaths in the State of Texas than any other state or territory. The Texas Police Chiefs Association's Foundation provides monetary assistance to families of Texas officers killed in the line of duty. In 2019, 21 officers were killed in the line of duty in the State of Texas. The money raised by the TXFallenPD Tribute Event benefits the Texas Police Chiefs Association’s Foundation.
The TXFallenPD Tribute Event is a community fundraising event that takes place at The Shops at Highland Village. There are activities throughout the day for the whole family including a 5K run/walk, a citizen bike ride/race, a Police bike ride/race, as well as a Police obstacle course. All of the funds raised go directly to the Texas Police Chiefs Association's Foundation.
Activities start at 2:30 with the opening ceremonies. Following that, vendor booths, the kids zone, and the Touch-a-Truck area will all open at 3:00. We will have live music and entertainment throughout the day culminating with awards and our Honor the Fallen Memorial video remembering the lives we have lost in the line of duty in 2019. Admission is free to enjoy the festivities. Event entry (citizen 5K run/walk and citizen bike ride/race) is $30 if you register before October 1, 2020. Don't delay - registration goes up to $40 if you register after October 1, 2020.
