Description

Join us Saturday, August 20th!

Double the pleasure, double the fun. We have some brand new tasty dirt and gravel roads to our south to hit up day and night. Hell of the Noth Texas is in the morning, Full Moon Fever goes that night. Special pricing if you do the double header or choose just one to your liking. We've even included some fun rides and shorter routes into the mix to have a little something for everyone.

Hell of the North Texas Gran Fondo with cash awards:

61 miles of extremely groovy gravel goodness. Be sure to bring some strong legs for this one. There will be some super fast and racey flat sections but a large part of the course is hilly, winding terrain with lots of shade canopy. We expect it to be hot in August so this will be the longest route during the heat of the day. Payout based on number of total entries. Minimum payout of $250, 5 deep for overall results (based on minimum of 25 entries). Additional cash award (tbd) for top female will progress to minimum payout of $250 3 deep if at least 10 females enter.

Full Moon Fever 98 Mile Night Fun Ride:

98 Miles of the groovy gravel goodness with the addition of two extended bonus sections that ramp things up to epic greatness. This course will be extremely difficult with big, sketchy climbs and descents. This will be a tough 95 miles under ideal conditions, only for advanced riders during the night. Some sections should be considered ridable only on mountain bikes even though they are marked as county roads. This is a fun ride only but times will be kept for posterity's sake and bragging rights.

Double Trouble Special Recognition: Only for riders who complete both the Hell of the North Texas Gran Fondo and the 98 Mile Full Moon Fever. Best combined time for both events will receive the Magnificent Spinistry Hat of Splendor and Awesomeness award. More details soon.

Fun rides include:

Heck of the North Texas Daylight 35 mile route with some groovy goodness.
Full Moon Fever 61 Mile night ride...probably will be your favorite ride of the year.
Full Moon Fever 35 mile route of night time groovy goodness.for all the cool kids.

Wallace Park in Hilsboro is our staging area. We have a large, covered pavillion with electricity, picnic tables and restrooms. It is a large park with plenty of grassy areas and shade trees so feel free to bring a hammock and/or tent and spend the day with us. We'll be grilling and serving refreshments between events so there will be plenty of opportunity to cool down and relax. No overnight camping on site but there are numerous hotels/motels nearby.
