Like many others who have already given back to the community, the Houston Corporate Run 5K has decided to play its part in giving back as well.
We are enacting a ‘First Responder Bib’ program. For each person who registers for the Houston Corporate Run, we will be offering a first responder a free race bib and access to our post-race hospitality tent which we have renamed the “Houston Heroes Post-Race Tent.”
It’s a simple way for our corporate teams and individuals to show support for and interact with those that served others during this tough time in our city.
Join your co-workers and friends for Houston's “Largest Office Party" at Memorial Park. This event promotes the health and fitness of our corporate community and provides a great opportunity to network with fellow Houstonians.
The race is one of a kind in Houston and around the country featuring an unassigned staggered start. The 5K main loop course will remain open at Memorial Park over a four day period from October 23-26, 2017. Just select one day that week when you'd like to run or walk and then show up anytime that day between 4-8pm. Don't worry about being late in the Houston traffic or getting stuck in a meeting that runs long. YOU CHOOSE what day and time fits best with your schedule!
No matter which of the four days you choose to sign up, you can enjoy refreshments afterwards in our hospitality tent along with the chance to network with the rest of the Houston corporate community.

Who Can Participate?
Corporate company teams can consist of employees (full-time/part-time/contracted), vendors, family members and friends. Each company must have a minimum of four (4) participants when registration closes on the day of the event you choose to participate.

We believe the quality of life in Houston is directly impacted by the quality of its parks like Memorial Park.

ALL packets must be individually picked up during the packet pick-up dates. There will be no event day packet pickup. A photo ID is required for individual packet pick up. You may pick up a packet for someone else as well, provided you have a copy of their photo ID.
For any individuals that register on or after October 17th at 12:00am will pick up your event bib at the registration tent located near the start line area on the day you have chosen to participate.
Event Day Registration
Event day registration will be available at the registration tent near the start line area. Registering on the day of the event will guarantee you an event bib and access into our post-event tent. Event T-Shirts and Goody Bags will not be available on the day of the event.
Post-Run Corporate Hospitality Tent
After you have completed your 5K, the fun continues! Swing by our "Houston Heroes Post-Race Corporate Hospitality Tent" near the start/finish line for refreshments, including complimentary Saint Arnold's beer for 21+ participants. You'll also be able to network with your corporate peers and interact with our first responders. The post run tent will remain open until 9pm each event day.
Memorial Park has accessible parking (handicap parking included) all around the park. See Course Map for details.
There will be no event day gear check. Please securely store your belongings in your vehicle or leave at home.
Follow the map below to the start line area. 5K starts and ends under an inflatable start and finish line identified on the race map.
Mile markers will be at each mile.
Water stations will be available at the start line and mid-way thru the run/walk.
Medical professionals will be located near the start/finish line if needed at any time during the race.
Spring Action Photos will be on hand at the finish line to provide high quality photos of your participation in the event. Your photos will be posted soon after the event and you can search for your photos by your last name or your bib number at www.springactionphotos.com. Watch for discounts that will be offered.
Tips for better race photos:
· Wear your bib on the front of your shirt.
· Pin all 4 corners of your bib.
· Pull your cap/hat away from your face.
· If running with a friend/family, run shoulder to shoulder while your photos are shot.
Please keep "Rules of the Road" in mind when running. Stay to the right of the walking trail at all times and pass on the left when possible. Memorial Park will remain open during the event hours which means people will be coming from the opposite direction you're running. Please be courteous of other patrons at the park. For competitive participants, please remember this is a 'friendly' competition. Safety first!
Due to insurance restrictions, baby joggers, strollers, animals, skates or other vehicular apparatus are not allowed by participants on the race course.
Headphones are not recommended during the race, but not prohibited. Please stay aware and in-tune with your surroundings.
All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund. If you cannot participate, you may not give or sell your number to anyone else and entry fees will not be transferred from year to year.
This event will be a ‘friendly’ competition across multiple categories, including:
Overall Company Participation
An award will be given to the company with the most number of total participants registered during the four-day event. To be counted for this award, participants must be full-time / part-time or contracted employees of the registered company.
Industry Participation Award
There will be an award for the most participants in each of the corporate run / walk business industry categories. Oil and Gas, Healthcare, Banking, Real Estate, IT, Hospitality - Restaurant / Hotel, Legal, Insurance, Retail, Universities, Education (K-12), Government, Engineering, Automotive, Non-Profit, Construction. Other proposed categories may be added by the race directors at their discretion.
Fastest Male & Female: Overall and Masters
Awards will be presented to the Fastest Male and Female and the Fastest Masters Male and Female (Age 40 and over). Employees of Running-Related companies are not eligible for Fastest Overall or Masters awards.
Fastest C-Level Executive
An award will be given to the first overall male and female C-Level Executive in two categories: companies with 49 or fewer full-time employees and companies with 50 or more full-time employees.
Challenge Your Competition!
Create your own corporate challenge by creating a friendly rivalry with a local business / corporation. Executive vs. Executive, Legal Firm Battle, Oil and Gas Showdown, 'Slowest Team'. If you would like to issue a challenge, contact the Race Directors via Email in the contact section below. The Race Directors will then issue the challenge to the competing company and will follow-up with you as to whether it was indeed accepted.
Disclaimer Regarding Awards:
In order to be eligible for awards, all runners must be 18 or over and must be employed full-time, part-time or contracted by the company to qualify. If, upon verification, the Race Directors find discrepancies, the team/individual will not be eligible for an award. All awards will be distributed to the winners following the conclusion of the event.
