Event Description
The 41st Annual UNCF South Texas – Houston Walk for Education is more than a 5K—it's a community movement dedicated to empowering students, strengthening historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and creating brighter futures through education.
Join us on Saturday, September 26, 2026, for a fun, family-friendly, non-timed 5K (3.1 miles) where every step helps change a life. Whether you're running for a personal best, enjoying a leisurely walk with family and friends, or rallying a team of coworkers, you'll be part of a nationwide initiative that raises critical scholarship funds and educational support for deserving students.
This year's fundraising goal will help provide scholarships and essential support services for approximately 43 students across Greater Houston, helping them get to and through college. Every registration, donation, and mile completed brings us one step closer to making higher education more accessible. The excitement doesn't end at the finish line! Participants can enjoy a vibrant community celebration featuring scholarship and FAFSA resources, interactive STEM experiences, family-friendly activities, local vendors, music, giveaways, and opportunities to win laptops and other prizes.
Bring your family, invite your friends, represent your company or organization, and join hundreds of supporters who believe that education changes lives. Together, we can ensure that more students have the opportunity to earn a college degree and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
