Description

****Weather Updates as of 5/2/19 8:10 pm*****
Scouted all of the main loops today while it was still raining. We are most definitely a go for this weekend!
The Saturday South Route (long) is perfect even after all of the rain. This route will be most excellent.
The Sunday North Route (long) had some flooding issues but outside of high water the roads were perfect. We expect the water to be down by Sunday and this one to be primo as well.

The Saturday short route needs one piece verified on Friday but we expect it to be a great ride. The Sunday short route had one running water section on Thursday which should be dry by Sunday.

The stage race has been shortened to two stages only on Saturday and Sunday. The Friday stage has too much high water to work around that soon.

****End Update****

A fantastic and flexible weekend for everyone to have a great gravel time on the bike!

Our featured event is the 3 day stage race but we will also have a Saturday only race, fun rides on Saturday and Sunday as well as bikepacking options for both self supported and guided riders. We will also have a Bikepacking 101 clinic hosted on Saturday by Jan Bennett. Bikepacking 101 is FREE for all participants as is on site, lake side camping both Friday and Saturday nights! We will have access to real toilets and hot showers for all campers.

Open stage race starts at 2pm Friday (50 mile), Saturday 9am (75 mile), Sunday 9am (75 mile). The course will be marked and there will be neutral water stations.

Self supported bikepacking option can begin any time from Friday afternoon on. We will provide multiple route options for any distance you want to cover each day. Self supported riders are welcome to tag along with the guided group if they wish.

Guided bikepacking option will begin 6pm Friday evening with equipment distribution and a roundtable discussion with the guides for the weekend plans.

Saturday open race will start with the stage racers and follow the same course. The course will be marked and there will be neutral water stations.

Saturday/Sunday fun rides will start with the race groups as well. Those routes will also be marked and have neutral water stations.

More details soon.

Race Category Descriptions

A Race - The Aces of the field. If it is a payout race this will be the category. Equivalent to Pro/Cat 1/19+ Mph Average over 100K

B Race - Badasses. The every day fast folks most of us are jealous of. Equivalent to Cat 2 and Cat 3 sandbaggers/16-18 Mph Average over 100K

C Race - Competitive. Likes the thrill of the chase and a badass wannabe. 14-16 Mph Average over 100K

D Ride - Developmental. Get out there and see what you can do. No pressure of any kind but you will have a recorded time to reference if you are curious how you stack up with others. Not worried about rankings? We're cool with that. This is also the preferred category for the person doing this type of event for the first time and has no idea which race category is appropriate for them. Ride non competitive the first event to establish a base line.

Categories are self declared but we reserve the right to force sandbaggers into an appropriate category at any time. Hint, if you podium more than once you are probably going to be upgraded. If you "win" a C race with a big gap on the field you will probably be upgraded that race unless you've never raced before.

Age breaks will be determined based on total number of entries once the event reaches capacity. The formula will be 8-10 racer per category (age/gender) based on youngest age and up. Once 10 racers are in an age/gender group the next group begins. Racing age is determined by age on event day.
