Kingwood Fillies 1st Annual Grinch Run and WHOliday Experience

Dear Grinch Run and Wholiday Experience Participants,

The Kingwood Fillies are sad to announce the cancelation of the in person 1st Annual Grinch Run and Wholiday Experience due to inclement weather expected Saturday morning.  The run has been moved to a virtual event and all on site activities at KHS to include the Grinch Run and Wholiday Experience have been cancelled.  Please see details below on how to pick up your t-shirts and Wholiday Experience To Go Packets plus details on the Grinch Run Virtual Event.  

12/19 8-10AM Grinch Run T-Shirts & Wholiday Experience Packet Pick Up 
T-Shirts and To Go Wholiday Experience packets can be picked up on Saturday December 19th from 8-10AM in the front circle drive at KHS.  If you cannot pick up your t-shirt at this time, please contact Courtney Solomon at courtney_solomon@hotmail.com to coordinate alternate pick up.  

Virtual Run Details
Although the weather is grinchy we can still have a fun holiday run 2020 style...virtually!  Participants are encouraged to run a 5K at your own time during the Humble ISD winter break (12/19-1/4) and log your time online at Kingwood Fillies 1st Annual Grinch Run and WHOliday Experience (runsignup.com).  A link to the run website is also on the Kingwood Fillies Website - kingwoodfillies.net.  Share pictures of your run on social media so we can see all the Wholiday fun! Don't forget to tag #KingwoodFillies!

This was a hard but necessary decision to keep everyone safe.  If you have any questions you can contact the Kingwood Fillie Run Committee through the run website under the race info tab.  The Kingwood Fillies would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.  Look for this event next year in 2021!

Welcome to the Kingwood Fillies 1st Annual Grinch Run & WHOliday Experience!   

Come join the Kingwood High School Fillies in a fun morning of running and WHOliday activities. Runners and walkers get a 5k run on the 1 mile KHS XC competition course while the kids get a 400 meter race around the KHS track. After you race you can enjoy our version of Whoville. Stay and get your picture taken with Santa and The Grinch. Perhaps join a friend in a SNOball fight. Not feeling adventurous? Coloring, crafts and smore's are also available. You'll see a whole section about our safety protocol and as always, we will be monitoring the situation all the way up to event day!

In addition, for those who aren't certain they want to come in person, we're offering you a VIRTUAL option as well.  You can STILL support us but it can be done from anywhere and really at any time!

What can you expect? 

An experience that you won't forget!

An event with various safety protocols in place and a socially distant experience to enjoy with your whole family.

Timeline:

7:15am: Packet pickup opens and will remain open until 10am. 

8:00am -- Wave 1 Starts.  All other waves will be 45 minutes apart.  Maximum of 50 people per wave. Kids fun run will be run separately from the 5k run. 

8:45am -- Wave 2 

9:30am -- Wave 3 (walkers)

10:00am -- Kids wave 1 (on the KHS track)

8:00am to 11:30am -- WHOliday Experience

 All entries (including the virtual option) will include photo opportunities , Hot Chocolate, S'Mores, SNOball fight and crafts (the WHOliday Experience)

COVID 19 INFORMATION
2020 Social Distancing and Safety Measures 

Event Screening will be done

* Contactless temperature checks will be conducted
* Everyone will be required to complete a declaration when checking in at the event that they are not currently infected by COVID-19 and have not had, or knowingly been in contact with, someone experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days.
* Hand sanitizers will be available.
* Staggered start times every 45 minutes with maximum of 50 people at a time.
* All post-race snacks/goodies will be individually packaged. 

Masks are required when social distancing cannot be maintained.

** All registrations except the "WHOliday Experience ONLY" include a race bib and t-shirt.

*** Shirt sizes are not guaranteed after noon on Friday Dec. 11th. Quantities limited.
