Gift of Life 5K & 1K Kids Dash Canceled Due to Weather
Good afternoon,
Due to weather conditions that are beyond the control of Transplants for Children, and the resulting safety concerns for our runners, transplant families, volunteers, vendors, community partners, staff, and everyone involved, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.
This was not an easy decision. Our team has been preparing and looking forward to this event alongside all of you; however, given the anticipated conditions, we cannot safely move forward with the event as planned. The safety and well-being of everyone involved must come first.
Packet & T-Shirt Pickup
Our scheduled packet pickup at Raising Cane’s, 1418 Austin Highway, is still taking place today, Friday, October 2, from 4:00–6:00 PM.
Registered participants are still welcome to pick up their race packets and T-shirts. T-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so please call ahead if you would like to confirm that we still have your size available.
If you are unable to attend today’s packet pickup, please contact the TFC office to coordinate another date and time to pick up your packet and T-shirt. We ask that you call ahead so our team can confirm availability and have your items ready.
To all of our runners, families, teams, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community partners: thank you for the tremendous support you have shown Transplants for Children. Whether you registered, sponsored, donated, volunteered, planned to host a vendor booth, or simply planned to join us, we are incredibly grateful.
Because this cancellation is the result of weather and circumstances outside of the organization’s control, registration fees are nonrefundable in accordance with the terms and waiver agreed to during registration. Registration fees and sponsorship support will continue to benefit Transplants for Children’s programs and services for transplant recipients and their families.
We understand how disappointing this news is, and we sincerely apologize that we are unable to gather together as planned. We share that disappointment and truly appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of our transplant families.

Transplants for Children (TFC) is proud to host the 5th Annual Gift of Life 5K Run/Walk, a family-friendly event dedicated to raising awareness and support for pediatric transplant recipients and their families.
This year, we’re bringing back a fun twist in the spirit of Halloween with a costume-themed race for all ages! Join us for:

🧒 A playful 1K Kids Dash for our youngest superheroes and goblins
