The Spring Thing 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023! Walk/run this 5K in support of mental health! The race is planned to take place on the grounds of the San Antonio State Hospital located at 5900 S. Presa St. San Antonio, TX 78223. Enjoy the beautiful campus grounds while catching a glimpse of the Tower of the Americas; and while you’re here, take in the views of the new hospital construction project. This is the only time in the year that the campus is open for runners and walkers. Dogs on a leash and strollers are allowed. This is a professionally timed, chip race with an accurate course. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers.
This event benefits the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital. The Council’s primary mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance the well-being of patients receiving treatment at the San Antonio State Hospital by providing goods and services not funded by the state. The patients at the San Antonio State Hospital are receiving treatment and are on their way to recovery from mental illness. "Sleeping in for Mental Health!" registration: What does this mean? I won't be there to run, but still want to support this great cause and get that mental health t-shirt! $20 fee, t-shirt must be picked up at packet pickup.

Thursday May 4, from 4 to 6 pm at Tandem San Antonio, located at 310 Riverside Dr. San Antonio, TX 78210 or on race day at race site from 7 to 7:50 am. Please note that shirt sizes may not be guaranteed if you register after Friday, April 21, 2023.
