Virtual Edition:  Tour de Las Misiones Bike Ride, Walk & Run
For the safety and wellbeing of the community during the current pandemic, this year’s Tour de las Misiones will be a virtual event. Complete your tour September 8-13, 2020. Please observe health & safety recommendations and social distancing guidelines when completing your tour.  More details are available at www.worldheritagefestival.org.

About:
This year's Tour de las Misiones celebrates Mission San Jose’s 300th year! The event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit and learn about the historic San Antonio Missions. This Virtual Bike Ride, Walk and Run can be completed by registered participants using the designated routes or by using their own routes to tour the Missions.  Registered participants may begin their bike ride, walk, or run on September 8, 2020 and must complete them by September 13, 2020.  

What to Expect:t
Registered participants will receive a commemorative bib, finisher’s medal, T-shirt and keepsake passport to use while exploring the Missions. NO MORE T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE.  Registration closes on September 8, 2020. 

Virtual Bike Ride Tour:
The Virtual Bike Ride Tour includes a 7, 14, 22, mile bike ride tour of the southside of San Antonio and The Alamo, stopping at each of the missions.  Participants can use the designated routes or complete the bike ride tours by using their own routes.

Safety Tips:  
This Bike Ride is not a race and can be completed on an open road with motor vehicles.  All riders must follow the rules of the road and all regulations as defined in the Texas vehicle code.  Participants must follow all instructions of the law enforcement and/or fire officials, public safety vehicles always have the right of way.  Riders are encouraged to wear bike helmets on the course and buckled.  We strongly suggest bringing at least two water bottles.

Virtual 5K and 10K Run:
The Virtual Run includes a timed race where registered participants will enjoy a 5K or 10K run through the scenic San Antonio River Walk: Mission Reach, San José and the southside of San Antonio.  Participants can use the designated routes or complete the run by using their own routes. Run times can be submitted directly to iaapweb.com.

Safety Tips:  
When running on an open road, all runners must follow the rules of the road and all regulations as defined in the Texas vehicle code.  Participants must follow all instructions of the law enforcement and/or fire officials, public safety vehicles always have the right of way.  We strongly suggest bringing at least two water bottles.

Virtual 5K and 10K Walk:
Registered participants will enjoy a 5K or 10K walk through the scenic San Antonio River Walk: Mission Reach and Mission San José.  Participants can use the designated routes or complete the walk by using their own routes.

Things to consider when touring the Missions:
The Missions are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., restrooms are also open during these times. Some facilities at the Missions may be impacted by current health safety guidelines. Visit the National Park Service website (https://www.nps.gov/saan/index.htm) before your visit for the latest information. Bicycle riding is not allowed in Mission San Jose compound, participants must dismount and walk their bikes in.

Things to consider when touring the Missions:  
Mission San Jose grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The grounds of Missions San Juan, Concepcion, and Espada are open from sunrise to sunset. Restrooms are open during those times.
