433rd Family Day Fun Run & Ruck

Good Morning Runners, Walkers, and Families,

We regret to inform you that today’s 433rd Airlift Wing Family Day Fun Run, scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 8:00 AM, has been canceled due to heavy rain and hazardous weather conditions.

After evaluating the weather and course conditions at Lackland AFB, we have made the difficult decision that proceeding with today’s event would pose unnecessary safety risks to our participants, volunteers, and event staff.

With the rain, slippery surfaces, standing water, and potential flooding, the safety of our military members, families, and guests must come first.

We understand that many of you were looking forward to participating in the 5K Run, 2-Mile Walk, and Ruck. We share your disappointment, especially knowing how much this event means to our military community.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, particularly to those who made arrangements to attend this morning.

Event Details:

* Event: 433rd Airlift Wing Family Day Fun Run
* Date: Sunday, November 8, 2026
* Location: Outdoor Recreation Center, Lackland AFB
* Status: CANCELED due to hazardous weather conditions

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support. While we were excited to bring our military families together for a morning of fitness and camaraderie, no event is worth putting anyone’s safety at risk.

Please stay safe, use caution if traveling, and avoid flooded roads or hazardous areas.

Thank you again for your continued support of the 433rd Airlift Wing and 433rd Contingency Response Squadron.

Respectfully,

TSgt Erik Burciaga
