Description

People are ready to get back in shape and we're here to help! Whether you just need to drop the spare Covid 21 pounds or get back into true racing form we have options for all. Including an exciting new chase racing format that allows all skill and fitness levels to race to the same finish line at the same time. It's CRAZY, right?!

Club Spinistry members save $20 on each entry which means the beginner route is FREE for members of Club Spinistry.

Chase format works essentially as handicapped racing. Slower riders go out first, followed by faster riders. Start time are gapped to allow for MASSIVELY interesting competition. Race distances of 36, 62 and 100 miles. Racing categories in each distance for 12 MPH, 14 MPH, 16 MPH, 18 MPH and 20 MPH average speed. Racers choose their own average speed based on whatever criteria they desire. Bonuses are awarded based on total number of people passed by each racer as well as another bonus factor for starting in a faster category. We expect those bonuses to negate any sandbaggers. Bonuses will accrue with age as well. Older riders will earn more age bonus than younger riders.

Please note that this format is intended to be completely gender neutral. Awards are based on overall performance regardless of gender.

Tentative competitive start times (pending route verification):
7:30am all 12mph for all distances
7:55am 36 mile 14mph racers
8:14am 14mph 62 milers and 16mph 36 milers
8:30am 18mph 36 milers
8:42am 14mph 100 milers and 20mph 36 milers
8:47am 16mph 62 milers
9:13am 18mph 62 milers
9:34am 16mph 100 milers with 20mph 62 milers
10:16am 18mph 100 milers
10:50am 20mph 100 milers

Routes are mostly a mixture of unpaved roads, rough pavement and rural county roads. There are short stretches of high speed Farm to Market roads on all routes. All riders are expected to adhere to the Texas Traffic Code. There are several railroad crossings on the routes. Please do not cross under or through any stopped trains. Please do not litter.

24, 36 and 62 mile routes will be fully marked but we still highly recommend GPS navigation as backup. Signup provides FREE use of the Ride With GPS navigation app if needed. 100 mile route will be self navigated where it differs from the 62 mile route. 62 and 100 mile routes will have neutral water tables. The 100 mile route also goes near a store.

Racers are considered self supported. No on course support allowed from non participants or event organizers. Racers are expected to provide proof of adherence to the route upon request and for any reason deemed necessary by event staff.
