The Colorado runs from the Highland Lakes to Matagorda Bay, and every Fit Foundation race sits somewhere along it. Run the River tracks how far down that corridor your legs have carried you this year.
Every mile counts, from the 5K up, at every race we put on. Nothing to join and no separate entry fee. If you have already raced with us this year, you are already on the river.
- Enter any Fit Foundation race. That is all it takes to be on the river.
- Every finished mile is credited automatically. There is nothing to claim.
- Miles count retroactively to January 1. If you raced with us earlier this year, those miles are already banked.
- Reach a marker at any race and it is presented to you at that finish line. Markers are never mailed.
- Every distance counts, from the 5K up. Timed events count the distance you actually cover. Backyard ultras count 4.167 miles per yard completed.
- The markers are named for points on the river, not for where you collected them. You can earn Marble Falls at a race in Austin.
- Everything resets on January 1. Miles do not carry from one year into the next.

The Rio Colorado 250K Club is our soft launch of the Rio Colorado Ultra Slam. Every mile you cover at a Fit Foundation race in 2026 counts toward it, retroactively, going back to New Year's Day. Reach 250 kilometres and the buckle is yours, handed to you at the finish line the moment you cross it.
There is no ceremony and nothing gets mailed out in January. You cross the line with the miles, and we hand it to you there.
- Enter any qualifying Fit Foundation race in 2026. That is all it takes to join the club.
- Every mile you finish is credited to your running total, automatically. There is nothing to claim and no separate entry fee.
- Miles count retroactively to January 1, 2026. If you have already raced with us this year, you are already on the board.
- Cross 250 kilometres at any qualifying race and the buckle is presented to you at that finish line.
- Every distance counts, from the 5K up. Timed events count for the distance you actually cover. Backyard ultras count 4.167 miles per yard completed.
The longest event on our 2026 calendar is the Colorado River Run 100 Miler, and a hundred miles is 160.9 kilometres. That is two thirds of the way.
The 250K Club was never a single-race award. Nobody is going to back into a buckle by accident, and nobody has earned one yet.

Multiple races. One river. One of the toughest endurance challenges in Texas.
The Rio Colorado Ultra Slam™ is a journey that tracks the spectacular geographical transformation of Texas. Runners trace the lifeblood of the Lone Star State, moving from the rugged granite cliffs of the Hill Country, winding through the sandy loam of the Lost Pines savannah, and culminating in a brutal, beautiful endurance showdown on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico.
From Tow, near the Canyon of the Eagles on Lake Buchanan to the Colorado River's mouth at Matagorda Bay, the river carves a path of approximately 431 to 432 river miles. The Ultra Slam challenges you to conquer this epic expanse on foot, anchored by our pinnacle achievement: a clean, rounded challenge distance of 400 MILES IN ONE YEAR.
Three Ways to Earn It

Note: Backyard ultras count toward the Ultra Slam 200 and 400 tiers only, when you reach the required distance (50+ miles for the 200, 100+ miles for the 400). Backyard ultras do not count toward the Ultra Slam 150, which requires five completed 50K trail races.

Your Ultra Slam entry is a single bundled fee that covers all your chosen races. Register early to take advantage of our Founding Athlete Early Bird rates.

Payment plans are available at checkout: three monthly installments for any tier. Race swaps are permitted up to 60 days before the event date of the race you are dropping, subject to availability.

This is the inaugural year of the Rio Colorado Ultra Slam. Founding athletes lock in the lowest price this series will ever offer and get their name on the permanent founders wall at Rio Colorado headquarters.

How It Works
- Register here and pay the bundled entry fee for your tier.
- Select your races at checkout (you can adjust up to 60 days before each race).
- Show up. Finish. Repeat.
- Receive your finisher buckle upon completion of your tier.
We track your qualifying finishes automatically, and you will receive a confirmation email after each race showing your progress.
Fine Print
- The 2027 season runs January 1 through December 31, 2027.
- All races must be completed within the 2027 calendar year.
- Backyard ultras must reach the qualifying distance (50 miles for the 200 tier, 100 miles for the 400 tier) to count. Backyard ultras do not count toward the Ultra Slam 150.
- Refunds are not available once the roster closes. Deferrals may be granted for documented medical reasons at the race director's discretion.
- Entrants who do not complete the required races receive credit toward individual race finishes but do not earn the Slam buckle or jacket.
