Monk Strong Memorial 5k & Fun Run

The Monk Strong Memorial 5k and Fun Run was formed in honor of Justin Monk.  Justin, a former Marine with the United States Marine Corps was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer in 2019. He later succumbed to this cancer in 2023. Justin wanted nothing more than to help others. He dedicated his life to serving those in need. After serving in the Marine Corps, Justin came home and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. He worked as an RN at the Hamilton hospital for 7 years. Justin was also a member of a small Church of Christ in Stephenville, TX. Justin left behind a legacy that can’t be matched. He was kind, loyal, honest, and proud. He stood up for what he believed in, and what is right. His motto was God, family, and hard work! 

We are honoring his memory by hosting a yearly 5k and fun run. We would like to raise money to serve those who serve others! He left behind a S.P.E.C.I.A.L legacy that his family and friends plan to carry on. 

Our course is designed to handle all fitness levels. We hope to see you there. 

Register by 10/06/23 to be guaranteed a Race T-shirt.

Registration Fees:

Individual - $30

Team of 5 or more timed 5K runners - $25 per runner

Fun Run & Untimed 5K - $20

Add $5.00 to above for race day registration

Award Categories:

Age Divisions: Top 3 Males & Females in the following age groups: 

10 year - (62 Medals) Overall M/F, 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & Over

Early packet pick-up will be Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the city park pavilion. 6-7pm

Race Day Schedule: @ the Stephenville City Park

Walk-up Registration and Packet Pickup: 6:30-7:15am
