Description
Join us for a fun-run sponsored by the Alexandria Foundation. Our 501(C)(3) foundation awards scholarships annually and has supported educational initiatives for students in the greater Houston area for over 25 years. A portion of the net proceeds from this year's event will be donated towards initiatives that battle Sickle Cell and Sickle Cell Trait Awareness. Sickle cell disease (SCD) and sickle cell trait research and treatment have historically faced deficits in funding, research prioritization, and accessibility of care compared to other illnesses. Donations in addition to your registration fee are greatly appreciated.
Our run will be on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at Brazos River Park in Sugar Land, TX and is open to the public (men, women, and children). This isn't your traditional 5K run - we've added an extra 1K in honor of the year Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc was founded 1906 - ('06).
This '06K Race registration includes a '06K numbered bib, a commemorative medal and other surprises from our sponsors and supporters. Top finishers will also be awarded based on their registration class. If you aren't up for running - WALK - in support of the efforts of our organization.
There will be volunteers available to assist you along the way. Additionally, expect race-day prizes and hype music from our on-site DJ.
