Description

The 13.1 mile single-loop race goes through the twin cities of Texarkana, AR and Texarkana, TX. The course includes two park asphalt trails and residential neighborhoods on city streets. The finish line is downtown at 3rd and Wood Streets in front of the Hopkins Ice House about 4 blocks from the start.

The race is a unique opportunity to run in one half marathon in two states - Texas and Arkansas - on a USATF certified (#AR09010DLP) single-loop course! We will apply to be in the prestigious 2018 Arkansas Grand Prix series when the bidding opens later this year. Information about the series is available at www.arkrrca.com.

A portion of the course is on the Texas/Arkansas state line. The race includes chip timing and 2-person and 4-person relay teams. Enjoy our post-race celebration at the finish line with sponsored hamburgers, chicken, and beverages. Sponsored food and beverages are included for all race runners and walkers.

Relay Team pricing is found under the heading "Relay Teams Info & Pricing".

Course & Maps:  Four miles of the course are on two 10-ft wide asphalt park trails with the remainder on coned off city streets. The course has several long hills... watch out for the Arkansas Blvd hill. Seven water stops; six restrooms near miles 2, 4, 6.5, 8 & 10; multiple police officers; and 70+ volunteers are stationed along the course. Several musical entertainers are also on the course. The Course Map with marked water stops, restrooms, and relay team exchange point locations is posted here and on our website.

Two Gear Drop-Off Locations: Runners may drop off gear inside the Bi-State Justice Building adjacent to the start on race day prior to the race. The second gear drop-off location is just past the 1-mile marker. Put your name on your gear. Do not drop off valuables. Gear from the two drop-off locations will be brought to the finish line and set inside the Hopkins Ice House on or near the shuffleboard table. Gear dropped off at any other location on the course will not be brought to the finish line. We will do our best to get all gear from the two drop-off locations to the finish line. We are not responsible for belongings that are dropped off or items that are brought to the finish line.
