Come one - come all to the USAT Texas State Championship! This is an event you don't want to miss whether you are new to the sport, veteran, club member or supporting your participant. Competition will be tough and exhilarating as you compete against the best athletes around. No need for Texas residency - this is a qualifier for the USAT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
Championship Divisions & Distances
Sprint - 750m (.45-mile) swim, 29km (18.2-mile) bike, 5km (3.1-mile) run.
Olympic - 1500m (.9-mile) swim, 40km (24-mile) bike, 10km (6.2-mile) run.
High School - 750m (.45-mile) swim, 29km (18.2-mile) bike, 5km (3.1-mile) run.
Club Championship - Club members eligible to race any distance or division.
Non-Championship Divisions & Distances
Duathlon - 3.1-mile run, 18.2-mile bike, 3.1-mile run.
Aquathon - .9-mile swim, 24-mile bike.
KIDS (7-10) - Splash & Dash Youth Aquathlon - 100m swim, 1km run.
Venue: Join us at the beautiful Lake Ray Roberts for an open water swim, rural bike course (roads OPEN to vehicle traffic) and a shaded run course followed by a killer post-race party and pancakes by Dallas Athletes' renowned chefs.

Championship Eligibility
All participants registering in the Sprint or Olympic distance triathlons are eligible for championship awards.
Club members registering for any event AND providing their club affiliation are counted in the club scoring.
*Club affiliation must be identified during registration.
High School Championship Eligibility (Sprint Distance Only) - Any currently enrolled high school student or post high school student who graduated within six (6) from the date of the race are eligible to participate. Athletes do not need to be a member of a high school club or team. An athlete's race age is the age of the athlete on December 31, 2023.
USAT Competitive Rules 3.4a - "It is the participants responsibility to know the course". Please review course maps and race guide carefully for additional instructions and responsibilities,
WEATHER POLICY
Our goal is to produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions.
In the event of inclement weather, the start time may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Past this time event courses may be shortened or altered to protect participants.
If conditions are unsafe, event changes including cancellation are at the discretion of the Race Director.

DAR Triathlons are USAT sanctioned events and conducted in accordance with USA Triathlon rules.
1. Photo ID is required.
2. Adult competitors MUST pick up their own packet! You cannot pick up for someone else or send someone to get your packet.
a. Each adult member of a relay team must pick up their own packet.
b. With proper identification, an adult can pick up for a minor.
3. Each competitor must be a current member of USAT or purchase a one-day USAT permit during the registration process.
4. Preregister on your own device before arriving at Packet Pickup.
5. No Race Day Packet Pickup unless:
a. Athlete lives more than 30 miles from the nearest packet pickup location.
b. Athlete has an email permission/confirmation from info@dallasathletesracing.com.
6. Race Day online registration and Packet Pickup close 30 minutes before race start.
Dallas Athletes Racing has a no refund or transfer policy.
Age Group Divisions: three deep per age group.
Sprint: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 -69, 70-74, and 75 & over.
Olympic: 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 -69, 70-74, and 75 & over.
Overall (male, female & non-binary). Overall winners remain eligible for age group awards.
Masters Division (one deep)
Male – 40-59
Female – 40-54
Grand Masters (one deep)
Male – 60 and over
Female – 55 and over
Athena/Clydesdale Division: (Sprint and Olympic, three deep).
Athena 39 and under, 40-54 & 55+.
Clydesdale 39 and under, 40-59 & 60+.
Duathlon Sprint:
Three deep for male and female - Combined age groups.
Aqua-bike Olympic:
Three deep for male and female - Combined age groups.
High School Championship: (Male and Female, three deep & 1st H.S. club based on score).
Club Championship: (1st overall based on score & Highest participation).
Youth Splash & Dash: (Untimed - fun only).
You or a designated person must be present to pick up your award. Awards are not available for pick up or mailing post event.
Participants - Remember to present your ticket to park officials when entering the park. Non-participants will be charged park fee.
Park staff will direct you to parking sites.
Transition will be open at 6:00a.m. and will close at 7:15a.m. Please have your helmet available for inspection. Body marking will be available at the transition entrance.
Save time entering transition race morning by having a friend body mark you before you arrive to transition to avoid waiting in line! Using a black, thick sharpie, have a friend write your race number vertically, (sized 2 inches minimum per number) on your outer left arm and outer left calf. Be sure the skin is clean and does not have lotion or sunscreen prior to labeling.
Swim waves: Determined by gender and age, athletes must start in their assigned wave. Non-binary will begin in the first wave that encompasses their age group.
USA Triathlon Competitive Rule (3.4 m General Conduct) "When the beginning of any event is commenced by starting designated "waves"
or groups of participants at different times, all participants shall start in and with the proper wave
or group. Any participant who violates this section by starting in an improper and earlier wave or
group shall be disqualified. Any participant who starts in an open or elite wave in an event with
age group waves shall be ineligible for age group awards."
Swim cap: must be worn during the swim portion of the event. Athletes allergic to the issued cap may wear their own under the official cap provided.
USA Triathlon Competitive Rule (4.7 Official Equipment). "If provided by race management, a swimmer must wear the proper official swim cap corresponding to his/her wave. If a participant chooses to wear two caps, the official swim cap must be worn on the outside".
WET SUIT: It is highly unlikely water temperatures will be lower than 78 degrees race day. Participants wearing a wet suit are not award eligible.
USA Triathlon Competitive Rule (4.4 Wet Suit). "When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit."
Swim waves will be announced the week of the race.
Swim waves are determined by gender and age, each wave will have an assigned color swim cap issued at packet pickup. Non-Binary athletes will be assigned waves based on age. You must wear your assigned swim cap during the swim portion of the event.
The bike route is open to vehicle traffic on Farm to Market and County roads with a "chip seal" surface. For safety reasons riders must stay to the right of the "rumble strips". To avoid the possibility of flats, riding with lower tire pressure 98-100 psi or less is recommended.
UPON REENTERING THE PARK STAY TO THE EXTREME RIGHT WHEN PASSING PARK HEADQUARTERS, VEHICLES HAVE THE LEFT LANE.

The Splash & Dash event is non-timed and will start after the last swimmer exits the lake and safety boats are repositioned, participants have a separate transition area which must be utilized. They will not have access to the championship transition.
