CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System has partnered with East Texas Triathletes to present the Rose City Triathlon. The 11th annual sprint triathlon (650 meter open water swim, 13 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) will take place at a specially designed Lake Tyler course.

This event is known for a beautiful course around Lake Tyler and its trend of attracting new participants from across East Texas and beyond each year. In fact, each year members of USA Triathlon Association vote on their favorite small, medium, and large triathlon. Over the past few years our – South Midwest – region (4 states) has voted the Rose City Triathlon favorite small (2008) and medium (2009 & 2012) triathlon, as well as champ venue for 2011 and 2013.

We WILL allow race day packet pickup, but no race day registration.

6:00 AM – Transition Opens
7:30 AM – Transition Closes
7:40 AM – Athlete Pre-Race Mandatory Meeting
7:50 AM – Invocation
7:55 AM – National Anthem
8:00 AM – RACE START

8:00 AM: Pros/Elite Start
8:03 AM: Male 40+
8:08 AM: Male 25-39
8:13 AM: Female 25+
8:18 AM: Relay & Male/Female <24
10:30 AM – Awards Ceremony

IMPORTANT RACE INFO
This is a USATriathlon sanctioned event. All rules apply and will be enforced. The bicycle drafting penalty will be two minutes for each infraction. You must have a helmet to participate and anyone riding without a helmet will be disqualified

AWARDS
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male/female finishers broken down as follows:

First place – $300
Second place – $200
Third place – $100

An additional $250 will be given for the male and female to break the course record. Since this is a brand new course the overall winner for male and female will automatically break the course record and win the extra prize money.

All individual and relay finishers receive a finishers’ medal. Age group awards will be given to first through third place (male/female) for each age group  12-14;15-19;20-24;25-29;30-34;35-39;40-44;45-49;50-54;55 -59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and up!

Other awards will be given three deep male/female: Relays, Clydesdale, Athena and Master’s.

Friday, September 7, 5-7 PM at RACE SITE

Saturday, September 8, 1-6 PM at RACE SITE

Sunday RACE DAY, 5:30-7 AM (packet pickup only)

Each athlete must pick up his or her own race packet. No exceptions!
