Description
The Deaf-initely Can 5K and Fun Run is a run/walk event that benefits students attending the Wichita Falls
Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. Your participation supports:
- Fund field trips for preschoolers-seniors to build vocabulary from real-life experiences,
- Support teens in competitions with other students across the state,
- Supply extra learning materials for students and families throughout the year,
- Sponsor workshops for parents and educators to improve communication strategies and support,
- Fund transportation for students to attend cultural events and community activities,
- Provide technology like hearing aids and assistive devices to help students thrive in the classroom,
- Organize social events to help Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students build friendships and peer support.
Wichita Falls Regional Day School Program for the Deaf serves over 100 Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
across Region 9, including Wichita Falls ISD, Burkburnett ISD, and neighboring SSAs. Your support helps us
provide language-rich experiences from infancy through high school.

FAQ
Who can sign up? Anyone!
When is Packet Pick Up? Packet pick-up will happen on the day of the event, April 5th, at Legacy High School. Packet pick up time starts at 7:30AM
Where is the 5K & Fun Run? Legacy High School in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Can I register on the day of the event? Of course! However, we cannot guarantee that you will get the correct size shirt. Shirts will be available until we run out.
Will you have Chip Timers? We will not have Chip Timers this year.
Will there be things for kids to do? Of course! We will have sidewalk chalk, bubbles, hopscotch, ring toss, etc.
Is walking allowed? Yes, absolutely! We have many walkers, joggers, and runners at this event.
Are strollers allowed? You are welcome to use a stroller for this event, but all strollers will be asked to start at the back of the group in order to have our runners leave the start line safely.
Is the race dog friendly? We love dogs, but for runner safety we don’t allow dogs on the course.
Where do I park? There are plenty of parking spaces available at Legacy, but please be aware that some areas will be blocked off by cones. Be sure to arrive early for your event so you have time to park and check-in.
What happens if it rains? The event will take place rain or shine, and there are no refunds due to weather events. If there is inclement weather, we will do everything in our power to hold the event as scheduled; however, in the case of excessive wind, rain, and/or lightning, we may be forced to modify, cancel, or reschedule the event. Participant safety is our number one concern. Be sure to stay connected on the event day by checking for emails and following the Deaf-initely Can 5K & Fun Run Facebook page for updates. This is the best way for us to communicate event day updates or alerts.

Event Schedule
PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup is from 7:30 am the morning of the event at Legacy High School.
SATURDAY, APRIL 5TH
7:30 am - Check-in and packet pickup opens
8:05 am - 5K participants line up
8:15 am - 5K commences
8:20 am - Fun Run participants line up
8:30 am - Fun Run/Walk commences
Once you cross the finish line, relax, and enjoy our food vendor or the items in your swag bag. There is also a kids area for kids to play (parents must stay and monitor).
