Itinerary
Are You Ready for Kilimanjaro?
No technical climbing experience required! Kilimanjaro is a challenging high-altitude trek that requires strong physical fitness, endurance, and preparation. With the right training and mindset, it's an achievable goal for many active adventurers.
What's Included
From your arrival in Tanzania to your final descent from Kilimanjaro, here's what's covered and what you'll need to plan for separately.
*Tanzania requires mandatory inbound travel insurance ($44 USD per person) and a tourist visa ($100 USD for U.S. passport holders). Both can be arranged prior to departure through the official insurance portal and Tanzania eVisa portal. We recommend purchasing both in advance to avoid delays upon arrival.

Meet Your Team
Throughout your journey, you'll be accompanied by a dedicated Easy Day Adventures trip ambassador. They will be your guide and direct liaison with any of our local partners, safari and mountain guides, support crew and porters.
We are pleased to announce that this trip will include 2 American guides- The founder of Easy Day Sports and former Navy SEAL – Jamie Monroe and Adventure Guide (and former Navy Special Boat Operator) Zac Tankersley.
About Jamie
Jamie climbed Kilimanjaro in 2025 and turned his experience into the blueprint for the ultimate dream climb. As president of Easy Day Sports, he produces some of the nation’s premier endurance sporting events, bringing a rare combination of strategic planning, operational precision, and attention to detail. In a past life, Jamie was an extreme athlete in challenges like the Eco‑Challenge and has climbed mountains in the harshest conditions—but this experience is intentionally different. He’s committed to delivering a premium, comfortable, and enviably “easy” adventure designed for travelers who want to achieve a lifetime milestone and summit Kilimanjaro.
About Zac
Zac is one of San Diego’s go‑to adventure guides—and for good reason. A former Navy special boat operator and global security professional, he’s worked in more than 25 countries and brings unmatched experience to every trip. He’s passionate about fitness, obsessed with photography, and completely at home in the mountains. Add in his endless stories and magnetic personality, and you get a guide people instantly connect with.
FAQ's
Absolutely! Kilimanjaro is one of the most attainable major summits in the world, making it an incredible goal for adventurous travelers. You don't need to be an experienced mountaineer to take on this challenge. With proper training, determination, and a great support team, reaching Africa's highest peak is a realistic goal for many active individuals.
Not at all! The Machame Route is a trekking route, meaning no technical climbing skills or specialized mountaineering experience are required. Some hiking experience and a good foundation of physical fitness will help you feel more confident and prepared.

You'll carry a daypack with essentials like water, snacks, and extra layers. Our mountain porters handle the majority of your camping equipment and additional gear.
You'll stay in mountain tents throughout the climb. Our support crew handles camp setup, and a dining tent with tables and chairs provides a comfortable place to enjoy meals and relax.
Your group will have private toilet facilities exclusively for our participants, separate from those used by the porters. Our crew will set up, clean, and maintain these facilities at each campsite throughout the trek.
