FAQ

  • Is the course walker friendly.

    • Yes all 3 courses are walker friendly,

  • Will there be awards for winners?

    • Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories for men and women: 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. 

  • What are the overall awards?

    • The overall female and male of the half-marathon will each receive $250.     

  • Can I switch races?

    • Yes, you may change your registration distance as long as there is space available. There will be a fee charged if the price of your new race is more than what you originally paid, and you will not receive a credit for the price difference if the price of the new race is lower.

  • Are strollers and dogs allowed?

    • Yes you can run the 5k or 10k with a stroller but not the half marathon.  DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

  • Will there be race day registration?

    • NO there will not be race day registration.

  • What is the minimum age requirement?

    • Although there is no "standard" age at which a runner should get involved in the sport of running, we recommend runners be at least age 12, for the Half Marathon, and 6 years old for the 5K. Ultimately, it is up to each parent or guardian to adjust our recommended age, higher or lower, depending upon their dependent's ability to participate in our event.

  • How much of the course is on trail?

    • The half marathon and 10k are 95% on dirt trails. The 5K is stroller friendly with roughly 10% of dirt trail. Did you know running on trails or dirt is easier on the knees and joints?  

  • How much elevation gain do the courses have?

    • The half marathon gains a total of around 350 feet of elevation through rolling hills. The 10K is on rolling hills with around 100 feet of total elevation gain. The 5K is flat with less than 100 feet of elevation gain.  See Elevation Chart in menu.

  • How will the course be marked?

    • The course will be heavily marked with nearly 500 cones and 69 directional signage on both the trails and roads. There will also be numerous volunteers on the course to cheer you on and ensure that you are on course!

  • Can I do a practice run on the course prior to race day?

    • Please do not, as majority of the course is on private property and without race-day signage it would be nearly impossible to navigate the course.

  • Will there be aid/water stations along the course?

    • Water and aid station locations are being finalized soon. There will be a minimum of 6 water stations along the half marathon course with 2 of these locations giving out energy gels.

  • Where is Tesoro Viejo?

    • The Tesoro Viejo Community is located just 8 minutes north of Fresno along the 41 Highway. This planned community is in Madera County and on the edge of the foothills.

  • Will there be a bag drop location?

    • Yes! There will be a place where you can check your bag near the start/finish line.

  • Where will parking be located?

    • Parking maps will be included in our event guide. Parking is in dirt parking lots. parking is free.

  • When and where is packet pickup?

    • Packet Pickup will be held at Fleet Feet Fresno on Friday the day prior to the event. 

  • Is there a time limit for the race?

    • The finish line will be open for 3.5 hours after the start of the half marathon.
