The Race Half Marathon & 5K – Weather Policy
The Race Half Marathon and 5K is a rain-or-shine event. However, the safety of our participants, volunteers, and spectators is our top priority. In the event of severe weather, including lightning, high winds, or other hazardous conditions, The Race organizers reserve the right to delay, modify, or cancel the event.
The Race team closely monitors weather forecasts and any other outside factors that may impact the safety of the event. Should there be any threat of severe weather, updates will be communicated through email, social media channels, and The Race website as early as possible.
When possible, decisions regarding delays or cancellations will be made no later than two hours before the scheduled start time. Any such decision will be promptly emailed to all registered participants and volunteers, and posted on The Race’s social media pages and website.
In the event of lightning within an eight-mile radius of the event site, the event will be delayed by 30 minutes from the time of the most recent lightning strike. All participants, volunteers, and spectators will be instructed to seek shelter either in designated safe areas or inside their vehicles.
Please note that certain weather-related or emergency situations may arise suddenly and without warning. In such cases, The Race will prioritize real-time safety decisions and communicate them as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe and successful event for everyone involved.
